And the News is....

This is BIG news for us. Although many people said they could see it coming.

We have made 5 trips down south so far this year. With ASL and G-Kids, family etc etc, it has just taken a toll on us.
So we were struggling with the answer.
The LAST thing we wanted to do was to pick one kid over another. We have kids in Ecuador, Denver, Omaha, Yucaipa and Flin Flon. So it had to be more than that .

Our goal was to cut costs. One way to do that is to be in a place where we could get to all of them easier. And so, that place is.....

DENVER, COLORADO!

Any objections, you can let us know.

However, not likely we will change our minds.

April Showers Bring May...

Seems to me, I remember the little rhyme, goes:

April showers brings May Flowers. Right?

Well, not in Winnipeg! Yesterday it was pouring rain.

This is what we woke up to today.

Of course, in Winnipeg, we only live here so that we have the weather to complain about.

SOME THINGS ARE ...JUST WRONG!

With over 1000 photos, I have enough so that I should not have to take any for quite awhile!

Some pictures we took in Ecuador of things that were just interesting. Like this guy panhandling along side of the road. He had to be quite warm in this get-up in Ecuador weather. But I'm guessing he must bring a lot of attention so that he can make a few $$. This may not be "wrong" but interesting, none the less.

This woman was so adorable. We were sitting clear at the back of the bus. She had no seat so she sat between the four of us and just chatted away! I just loved her! Wished I could have understood 1/2 of what she was saying, but she obviously knew we were not locals---maybe just "Loco".

This is typcial ecuador attire. The hat, the scarf to carry things. Now this is also not wrong, very interesting and exactly what I expected people to wear.

However, this really disturbed me! I have a definite thing about red sweat pants. I have this obsession. I believe that NO MALE should wear RED sweat pants!!!!! Don't know where this came from, but I think it looks so absolutely TACKY!

I am not opposed to sweat pants.

I had a busy week. I know, I know. Everyone that works full time feels no empathy for me. But I do have a busy schedule. Which means, if I'm working and busy all this laundry and cleaning and stuff is the LAST thing I want to do! I have my obligations of 70 hours a month. Pretty behind with that due to the wedding.

But when I'm busy what I look forward to is the days when I can lounge around at home... in my sweat pants! However..... NONE of them are RED! Why do I have a thing about RED sweat pants, I'm not sure. But I recall seeing a neighbor-(FYI-NOT next door) thinks he is all that and a bag of chips, wearing RED sweat pants. Not my first sighting, but just re-inforced my thinking that they are just WRONG! Red is one of my favorite colors in clothes, so that's not it either. I really can't say why. Just that I guarantee you. Jim has NO RED SWEATPANTS!

Anyone out there?

I think everyone who was even checking my blog has given up on me. I just about gave up. We've been busy!

All this happening at home would be busy enough. But this happened in Ecuador!

I now have a new Son-In Law! He is so VERY special and love him a lot! I know he loves my daughter and will take GREAT care of her!! So, although she is VERY VERY far away, she is happy and I am happy for her!

Lots of smiles! Lots of tears of joy.

We will try to fill in many details and keep up better.

Home -What's that?

I have said I have 3 jobs. Unfortunately, I only get paid for one and I seldom have that work to do. The other two jobs are helping the deaf and my homemaker duties. Most days, the last job leaves a lot to be desired! I am seldom home.

A week ago some very wonderful people from the other congregation invited us to dinner after our annual pioneer meeting. They really out-did themselves! Awesome meal-and amazing desert! We all appreciated their hard efforts VERY MUCH!

The right side of this picture are 7 of the 8 of us that pioneer in our congregation. (One missing-wife of the tall guy on the very right). I spend the majority of my time with these people. We try to make our days as enjoyable as possible. And there are stories that connect from one day to the next!

Our spouses were invited to enjoy with us. We felt so warm and appreciated!


So many of my days are spent with the other 7. And, up here you need good boots, mitts, hats AND good coats! I am the "Mother / Grandmother" of the group, so I take the responsiblity to tell them -"Wear you hat, where are your gloves!" And... "That coat will never do, it's not a -40C coat!" So, on the defense two decided to prove their coats were warm, by such comments as, "My coat is so warm that...." Well, I have to give cudos to the best line.

My coat is so warm that I need to apologize to Al Gore for global warming. It's an

"Inconvenient Coat".

Yep that one wins the prize.

So, with friends like that to be with, you can understand why I am NEVER home and my homemaker skills are taking a huge hit. I might work on it tomorrow. Today was a lazy, study, do laundry day. No pressure!
